The WorkPlace system uses GSM cellular network location technology or the Global Positioning System (GPS) to obtain the lone worker's real-time location accurately and reliably. WorkPlace then relays this location information to the dispatcher application using SMS messaging.
Job reports, time sheets, job start and end times, material usage, and other useful job-related information are relayed from the dispatcher workstation through Orange's Dualband GSM network, to the mobile phone of a field worker, rapidly and reliably, with just a few clicks of a mouse.
Moreover, location and scheduling information is employed by the dispatcher application to generate location history and job completion reports, which enables a much higher level of quality control - without having to wait for job completion forms to be processed days after the task is done.
